About the Organiser

Gujarat Law Society (GLS), established in 1927, is a pioneer educational institution in the state of Gujarat (India). It was founded by three eminent freedom fighters and legal luminaries Sardar Vallabhabhai Patel, Shri G.V. Mavlankar, and Shri I. M. Nanavati.

GLS Law College, under the aegis of GLS, is offering an integrated law programme at the undergraduate level. In the short span of five years, the institute has emerged as a premier institute in research, teaching and extension services in the area of law.

About the Moot

GLS Law College organizes and hosts Shri I. M. Nanavati Memorial National Moot Court Competition every year to commemorate late Shri I. M. Nanavati who made his mark as an advocate in the High Court of Gujarat and Supreme Court of India, and as an educationalist.

Eligibility

The Competition shall be open to students who are– Pursuing an integrated 5-year LLB programme in India; Pursuing a 3-year LLB programme in India.

Only 32 teams on first registration basis shall be allowed to register. Meaning thereby, the first 32 teams to register for the competition shall be considered for the said competition.

Provided in furtherance to the above clause, the first 32 teams shall be reckoned on basis of the final registration and not the provisional one.

Team Composition

Only the team member(s) designated as Oralist/Mooter shall be allowed to put forth oral submissions.

Only the team member(s) designated as Oralist/Mooter shall be allowed to put forth oral submissions. Under no condition shall a team consisting of more than 3 members be allowed to participate.

Any additional member or Team Coach accompanying a Team will not be entitled to a certificate from the MCC. Such persons shall not be provided accommodation facility. No certificate shall be provided to any fourth member.

Registration Details

The participating institutions have to provisionally register by sending an email to moot court organizing committee at glsmootcourt[at]gmail.com on or before 1st December 2019.

The acknowledgement of registration shall be given vide mail to the registering institutions. However, in case such acknowledgement is not received, it shall be the responsibility of the institution to enquire regarding the same and check for availability of the slots.

In absence of any communication from the MCC regarding the acknowledgment of registration, the same is not to be presumed.

In order to confirm participation, teams of every Institution should register themselves with the Registration forms duly signed by the heads of the institution along with the fees of Rs.3500/-per team.

Any team requiring an accommodation will have to pay registration fees of Rs. 5000/-. Any form received after the last day of registration will not be allowed.

The Participation fees as mentioned in Clause 5.2 shall be paid vide Demand Draft. The demand draft shall be drawn in favour of: GLSLAWCOLLEGE (Address: GLS Law College, GLS Campus, Opp. Law Garden, Ellisbridge, Ahmedabad-380006, Gujarat). 

The teams shall be solely responsible for any delay caused due to delay in receipt of Registration Form.
